Known as “The Miracle on Anderson Street”, Beulah Baptist Church experienced exponential growth through their neighborhood outreach and began outgrowing their old space. When Pastor Edwards approached PADC he envisioned an open, welcoming, light-filled space to house their growing congregation. Working with these concepts, we designed this new place of worship that more than doubled the original church’s seating capacity while providing additional flexible meeting spaces, a kitchen, administrative offices, and the capability for future expansion.
The new church is a 1-story wood frame construction using scissor trusses to create a large volume space in the sanctuary. The building also includes offices, an administration area, and a fellowship hall/educational wing with operable partitions for religious education and community events. The fellowship hall is complete with a kitchen and counter for serving meals.
The original building’s steeple cross and dedication plaque were incorporated into the new building, paying homage to Beulah Baptist’s past. It was a pleasure to work with Pastor Anthony Lee Edwards and Joe Marchese Construction in creating this inspiring place of worship.
